Actuarial Analyst / Associate, Pricing

Position Overview

Pricing Actuaries are responsible for the pricing of individual business through modelling, risk analysis, other new business development activities as well as in-force management of HK / HNW portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing required pricing models to complete quotes that meet clients' objectives and RGA's minimum requirements.
  • Ensure all pricing procedures, including preparation of pricing memo and peer reviews meet documented divisional standards.
  • Work closely with internal counterparts to develop sustainable reinsurance solutions.
  • Conduct review and provide sound advice for actuarial work.
  • Conductresearchandproducepricingbasis fornewbusinessdevelopmentinitiatives.
  • Ensurepricingbasisaredocumented and approved for all reinsurance coverage allowed under the country mandate.
  • Providetechnical/actuarialsupport for the execution of our product development initiatives. Conduct experience study to monitor the ongoing experience of in-force treaties
  • Structure and develop required in-force pricing solution to maintain RGA's profitability
  • Deliver quarterly insurance risk monitoring report to highlight the experience and emerging trends of key in-force treaties and recommend any management action if required
  • Enhance and streamline in-force management infrastructure and tools to improve efficiency
  • Provide insights drawn from in-force portfolios to develop and sharpen pricingbases
  • Handle in-force business enquiries from Business Development, Valuation, Data Administration and other regional teams
  • Support ad-hoc corporate and internal projects.



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, math, finance, or related fields
  • Fresh graduate / 1-2 years working experience
  • Highly organized, delivery-orientated with the ability to work with multiple concurrent projects
  • Highly motivated, results oriented and solutions focused
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong client services ability with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Advanced Excel and strong programming skills are required
  • Experience in actuarial software, e.g. Axis, is strongly preferred
  • Ability to challenge and enhance existing analytical methodologies
  • Innovative, proactive and improvement oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and deal with multiple stakeholders within the business
