Position Overview

The Actuary, Global Valuation will provide lead aspects of regulatory reporting for both the consolidated RGA enterprise and offshore subsidiaries. This includes all financial and actuarial items, processes, and analytical items related to regulatory reporting.The Actuary will compile the valuation components for the maintenance and enhancement of the financial reporting infrastructure including the development and monitoring of data, controls in support of RGA's Bermuda Home Office. Assignments will focus on group capital and legal entity reporting, analytical support within Global Valuation, and assisting senior leaders' responsibilities and projects.
This role can be located remote from US, Canada and Bermuda.
Responsibilities
- Compile data to support regulatory group capital reporting requirements
- Compile data to support Bermuda reporting requirements along with monitoring solvency and capital of certain other legal entities
- Compile data to support the Appointed Actuary for Bermudan legal entities
- Investigate data changes and interpret which deviate from expectations
- Complete quarterly calculations and consolidations of capital drivers and amounts under multiple capital bases
- Complete validation and consolidation of financial projections
- Contribute to the development, documentation, maintenance, and enhancement of processes, procedures, and controls.Coordinate these activities as assigned.
- Participate in department or cross-functional projects as needed.
- Coordinate collaboration with Accounting, ALM, Structured Finance and Corporate Modelling.
- Serve as Bermuda legal entity expert for RGA peers.
- Monitor BILTIR and BMA for latest reinsurance risk and capital trends.
- Perform valuation work and ad-hoc department projects as needed.
- Compile support for BMA applications.
- Support BMA requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field
- FSA accreditation
- 7+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance and/or reinsurance
- Advanced actuarial technical skills
- Highly advanced knowledge of life insurance products
- Intermediate PC skills and intermediate understanding of actuarial systems - including spreadsheet, database, and actuarial tools
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of reinsurance concepts and methods
- Intermediate ability to challenge and enhance analytical capabilities
- Advanced understanding of GAAP, statutory and tax accounting and reporting
- Intermediate ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives
- Advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously
- Advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
- Adaptable, self-starting, and team-oriented
Preferred
- Advanced technical skills in using business intelligence tools (Excel pivot tables, Tableau, etc)
- Familiarity with database applications.
- Advanced reinsurance industry and product knowledge
- Expert knowledge of life, health, and annuity products
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, Statutory, and Tax valuation and financial reporting

Compensation Range:
$132,430.00 - $202,455.00 Annual
Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
